I touched down in Austin for SXSW late Tuesday night as the music festival was kicking off, so I needed to quickly get to my hotel and check in, then head out to get my badge before closing time. I managed to get my credentials right before 10pm and then I went straight to Lustre Pearl for the Twitter showcase, which happened to be one of the best showcases I saw all week.
There were only three acts on the bill but they all put on some great performances one after the other. I was already familiar with Joey Purp’s live set and he sure didn’t disappoint, but it was also great to see DUCKWRTH and Lion Babe command and impress their respective crowds.
