The infamous Fader Fort made its return to Austin again this year and with that came yet another dope roster that painted a compelling picture of the musical landscape of today. I got the chance to check out the opening festivities, hitting the new location to catch performances from a familiar face in Knox Fortune, as well as getting my introduction to the live sets from Billie Eilish and Valee.
It was no surprise to see Knox kill it in this stage; he’s molding his live persona with every new performance and he’s definitely finding his groove. It was refreshing to see how many people showed up to cheer him on and dance along to his jams, and I can assure you that with the stellar backing band consisting of Liam Cunningham, Lane Beckstrom, and Justin Vittori by his side, Knox will continue to blossom.
Billie Eilish was definitely one of the best acts I saw all week, with a live show that begs to be witnessed by the masses. Her energy is infectious, her presence is alluring, and her music is quality. See her perform, and you’ll be a believer too! Also, it was dope I got to finally meet the homie Zane Lowe, which made the experience that much more memorable.
Valee for his part has been making big strides with his new music, and the Fader Fort was quite the stage to be taking his latest major steps towards the limelight. His set had plenty people hyped to be in the crowd jamming to his performance, showing off the potential of the GOOD Music recruit, who will surely soon be paying dividends as he makes good on the notion that he’s the future of Kanye’s prized label.
