Today we have received another offering from St. Vincent’s forthcoming album, Masseduction. The new song is entitled “Pills” and it premiered as the World Record on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show.
Annie Clark spoke to Lowe about the conception of track, and how she worked on it with Jack Antonoff (Bleachers; Fun.) while also recruiting Cara Delevingne and Jenny Lewis to offer some vocal parts and Kamasi Washington plays sax. The song has this sort of demented, upbeat vibe that rides along for the majority of its run, until just before the 3-minute mark where the desired effect of those pills some to kick in to close off the performance with a more serene feel.
