Sam Smith has detailed his forthcoming sophomore album, The Thrill Of It All, which will be released worldwide on November 3rd via Capitol Records, and has taken opportunity of the announcement to also share new song “Pray.”
The song’s title sets the theme right off the bat for the elements you’ll hear in the track’s production and lyrics, incorporating elegant strings and a lively choir for backing vocals to a Gospel-tinged sound that is a proper accompaniment to Smith’s singing about reading the bible and being his counterpart’s disciple while admitting he’s more sinner than saint. Smith’s seemingly got another hit on his hands here.
Smith has also announced the North American dates for The Thrill Of It All tour. The trek through arenas will kick off on June 18, 2018 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto and moving on to shows at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (June 27), New York City’s Madison Square Garden (June 29) and before concluding back in Canada at Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome on September 13. See below for more tour details.
Hear “Pray” below.
Smith will be the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” on October 7.
