Chance The Rapper’s appearance on this week’s opening episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aired moments ago and with it came a new song from the Chicago artist. Chano debuted the yet-untitled track tonight, on which he collaborates with Daniel Caesar. The incredibly intimate lyrics shows Chance revealing personal struggles with fame and its effect on those closest to him, along with other existential concerns. “The American dream, may you never wake up” is one of the many fine, fine lines on this one.
Chance demonstrated he stands firmly on a whole other level these days, taking to national broadcasting as his means to premier his latest work! S/o to the homie for this move. Not only that, but as he exclaimed in his interview with Colbert earlier in the broadcast, the song was written just a couple of days ago! Honestly, this is one of the best things he’s ever written, and if this is the direction that he’s going with for his next project, then we can expect something that can empower an argument saying Chance is the best rapper alive.
