Charlotte OC delivers another visual for a song off of her debut album, Careless People. I really like what Charlotte did with the “Shell” visual and to help explain the concept, who better to hear it from then Charlotte herself? See her explanation below and be sure to check it out the clip above.
“The video represents how as women, we often get reduced to just load of basic stereotypes aiming to simplify aspects of our personalities. We are treated as though we are either “angry” or “flirty” almost like we become a cartoon of what a woman is – or a kind of shell of who we are. All of these extremes are empty, which is why we wanted the video shot in black and white. I think overall women are rejecting this idea, of everything being looked at from the same angle, or all of us being the same size and wearing the same clothes. I’m proud of this song and truly felt like I grew a spine after I wrote it!” – Charlotte OC
