Check Out Our Top 5 Favorite Songs From Freako’s “Oaisis”

Freako dropped Oasis last month and we have had it in heavy rotation ever since. The young Chicago creative has pieced together an elaborate soundscape for the listener to indulge in, drawing lines between everyday reality and living completely in your head. Freako frequently reflects on using vices as a form of escapism from the world, a recurring theme many know all too well, myself included. Overall there is a nice range of energies from track to track, proving the versatility the rapper possesses.  When I asked Freako about the project he responded:

“My intention was to have the listener separate from how they feel to recognize themselves. Like oasis is peace, whatever that is to whoever, but finding peace in isolation.”

Find out our 5 favorite songs from Oasis after the jump, along with the link for the entire project!

1. Hellraiser (Prod. jay-r Beats)

First thing’s first, Jayrmakesbeats produced about 50% of the project and goes absolutely nuts on each track. On “Hellraiser” he teases the listener by starting it with a slowed out, bass filled beat then turns it into a hyper-dynamic banger which Freako tackles appropriately.

2.Heaven ft.Adot (Prod. Luke Almighty)

“Heaven” sees Freako come together with longtime frequent collaborator, Adot, who provides an entertaining verse. They both work off each other’s energy very smoothly, and Luke_Almighty comes through with a killer beat. We have seen Luke on songs he produced for Supa Bwe, Roo$ki, and Monster Mike and this just adds to his impressive production resume.

3.Moon (Prod. jay-r Beats)

This is a more mystical song which although still goes hard  with the bass courtesy again to jay-r. Freako shows he can dominate any beat he gets on with that grimy flow.

4.Could/Feel ( Prod. Luke Almighty/nnosxx )

This song is actually two, with the first one “Feel” produced by nnosxx having been teased prior to the project drop. The second track is called “Could” with Luke Almighty making a reappearance in the production credits. Together they create a good example of Freako’s wide range of skill.

5.Weary (Prod.jay-r Beats)

“Weary” is the final track on Oasis and jay-r’s last contribution to the tape. A darker, more introspective track and one of our favorites from the project.
