Punk icon Iggy Pop has shared a new song titled “Asshole Blues.” The acoustic record, which is premiering on Rolling Stone, will be released Friday on flexi-disc, via Jacuzzi Boys’ Mag Mag label.
The song is particularly striking since the production seems very old and primitive, as if it were cut in the genre’s golden era, while Pop himself delivers a vocal performance that will make you shiver. The man’s getting older, and his music’s getting more sour and darker.
