Pro Era star, Joey Bada$$, recently announced his newest project, “ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$,” which drops 4.7.17, and we are literally counting down the days here at POD. (31 days left) However, in the meantime, Joey’s gifted us with these powerful visuals. Self directed alongside Nathan R. Smith, they’ve really did it with this one.
“300 plus years of them cold shoulders.
Yet, 300 million of us still got no focus. “
The video itself includes images of young adults of color, dressed in all black, at one point circling around with chains then assembled in a line up against white males with guns, one by one falling and the others are left to flee. The limited options that most don’t get a chance to decide. Then, it cuts to young children draped in all white circling a tree. The youth is the future, and in turn we are creating a better future for them and generations to come. So, the need for change is now.
The imagery alone is powerful, but it perfectly compliments the talented lyrical flow of Joey. He’s really got something to say, and directly combats any unjust power in ‘Amerikkka.’
At one point, the setting resembled to be right out of the movie, Mad Max, a dried up deserted land,. But nevertheless, his evocative visuals are second to none, as Joey continues to move with purpose. Check out the “Land of The Free” video below and mark your calendars, #aaba is on its way!
