Ariel Pink and Weyes Blood have shared the first glimpse at their collaborative EP. The track is called “Tears On Fire,” and it is equal parts beautiful and chaotic. This Pop Folk delight boasts some Cali-warm finger picking guitar that leads to inviting vocals from Ariel on top of this great riff, which are then starkly contrasted by Weyes Blood’s fierce interjection on a mini chorus that beckons trouble of spiritual proportions. Legit, it sounds like something that would fit right in on The Velvet Underground & Nico…. And I would admit this is the forerunner for my favorite track of the month.
The EP Myths 002 is due out January 27 via Mexican Summer.
