The Growlers have released their new visuals for City Club stand-out track, “I’ll Be Around.” The music video for the Julian Casablancas-produced song was directed by Warren Fu, (The Strokes, Weezer, and HAIM) who took inspiration from films like Little Shop of Horrors for the concept. WIth the premiere on Rolling Stone, Fu said:
The band have created this eclectic style that’s all their own, yet there are no real rules in their world… So while this was the band’s concept, they were open to me throwing in my own ideas, such as the impatient Grim Reaper.
The video follows the band’s lead singer Brooks Nielson as he is carried into a hospital with a bloody nose and shortly flatlines despite efforts to revive him. While the rest of the band and the crew that arrived with Nielson shortly grieved, it soon became a celebration with a Soul Train line and everything, that the ghost of the vocalist eventually crashes. Check out the video above.
