Poet, activist, and educator Malcolm London has long been a powerful voice for progress in Chicago and today, with his mind set on bringing change to the country as a whole, he unleashes his latest project in the fight for a paradigm shift. London has released his debut album OPIA, a 12-track effort with production from Iasko, EB, and Donnie Trumpet, among others. Features include Trumpet plus Vic Mensa, Jamila Woods, How To Dress Well, and Maceo Haymes of The O’My’s, as well as femdot, Kiara Lanier, Cam O’bi, Noah Chris, and Christian Jalon.
Listen to the powerfully woke album below, and scroll beyond that to catch his TED Talks clip.
You may recognize London as one of the co-runners of the Open Mike series with Chance The Rapper, and he was once dubbed “the Gil Scott-Heron of his generation” by Dr. Cornel West.
