If you, like us, were at the Riot Stage for the closing act of Riot Fest 2016, you got to see The Original Misfits play only their second show together in 33 years! The iconic Punk band finally consisted of a lineup featuring Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, now adding Slayer’s Dave Lombardo on drums and Acey Slade on guitar to play the festival.
The band did it all, playing fan-favorite classics like “Die, Die My Darling,” “Last Caress” (both on our Instagram stories!) “Halloween,” “Where Eagles Dare,” and “We Are 138” on a stage equipped with giant Jack O’Lanterns. At one point during the show Danzig spoke to the crowd about how special these two reunion shows at Riot Fest really were, saying “if you weren’t at Denver or the Chicago shows, you fucked up!” As if we didn’t already know it, we were sure as hell lucky to be there to experience that set. We were right there in the crowd that responded fervently to every track being played, throwing our fists in the air and shouting out demented lyrics with the rest of them.
Above you’ll find the band performing “Attitude” as their closing number for the fest (maybe ever?). Check out clips of the band doing “Horror Business” and “Hybrid Moments” below.
