Last Wednesday night, Young Thug had The Vic absolutely lit. Actually, “lit” would be an understatement. So for lack of a better word at the moment, we can just go step by step , and set by set as to how ‘lit’ it truly was.
The opening acts of the show were no disappointment either. Fellow 300 Entertainment artist, Dae Dae’s performance although short left a good first impression on Chicago.
He performed songs from his most recent project, 4 Reasons, such as ‘Spend It’ and his most popular track “Wat U Mean” which got the crowd rowdy for what the rest of the night held. We were able to have a quick word and interview after his set that you can watch here .
Following up was no other than Lil Yatchy, and the audience absolutely lost it once he hit stage. The young rapper dripped up in his White Sox jersey hopped on stage while giving quite the performance with not only songs from his recent mixtape Lil Boat, but also older tracks that many of his day one fans got in tune with.
Things started to heat up which lead to the young redhead taking off his White Sox jersey to reveal a classic Bulls jersey (of course sporting the legendary 23) and only got crazier when he decided to bring out Chicago’s very own G Herbo. They had the sold-out crowd in the Vic absolutely hype with G Herbo’s I’m Rollin’ with everyone jumping and singing in sync while water bottles were thrown into the crowd and the Vic shook with energy.
Lil Boat’s set wouldn’t have been complete without performing 1 Night. It was quite the scene to close out with, all of the lights cut off leaving the Vic pitch black while he commanded everyone to turn the flash on their phone, and it was magical. The beginning beat started and everyone knew what that meant. There was a point where he really didn’t have to sing at all, the energetic audience knew almost every word and joined Yatchy that brought his set to a close.
Finally, Thugga blessed us with his presence and quite the set performing his biggest hits from Barter 6 and Slime Season 3. The fans kept the intensity level at an all time high for the night and never once dwindled. A very enthusiastic and eager crowd was greeted with Thugga’s With Them, Digits, and Pull Up On a Kid, while he moved with the beat swerving’ left and right on stage.
What would his set be without performing classics like Thief in the Night and the fans favorite of the night Best Friend, no surprise there. The vibes of the crowd were one with Thug’s heavy and catchy beats, and it was quite the scene. The Atlanta rapper came, saw and conquered The Vic leaving quite outlasting impression on the sold-out Chicago crowd.
In the end, the night was lit. Definitely one for the books.
