The Brooklyn based rock band The Skins immediately caught my attention at SXSW. I saw them perform at SXSW SOB’S 33RD Anniversary Show. Not only did they look badass but they also wowed the crowd with their kick ass sound.
The band is made up of siblings Bayli, Reef, Kaya Mckeithan, & their friends; Daisy Spencer & Rusell Chell. I didn’t know that at the show but after digging their set I had to do my research. They all clearly vibe together & feel their own music. The ladies on vocals killed it & they had amazing guitarists & a drummer to match.
I almost felt like they brought Rock n Roll back to life for me.

BADASS.. RAW.. HOT AND RAUNCHY.
After praising the Band on twitter; I got hit with a reply from one of my favorite actors; Adrian Grenier. Turns out he’s their manager! That was really cool to me.. but wasn’t the determining factor why I liked the band. Watching them perform; their music; them; that’s what made me a fan.
They have a raw ass energy, it’s contagious; I was rocking out their whole set & didn’t know ANY of their songs. I know no-one in that room that watched them perform will ever forget their performance.
The Skins were definitely one of my favorite SXSW performances & my FAVORITE discovery of SXSW.
