One the best episodes of SNL in recent memory aired last night when Larry David held hosting duties. There were plenty of highlight moments throughout the night, but the best of them all was, undoubtedly, Larry’s portrayal of Bernie Sanders in the skit “Bern Your Enthusiasm.”
Larry adapting his HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm was pure genius! The “cough and shake” was as good any term you saw popularized on Curb and Cecily Strong playing Suzy was spot-on… Not only that, but it also perfectly shows you just why Sanders narrowly lost to Hillary in the Iowa caucus. Also part of the Larry David-Bernie Sanders connection, the real Bernie made an appearance during a Titanic spoof that saw David play a stereotypical 1 percenter that gets a good talking down to by democratic socialist “Bernie Sanderswitzky.” Peep that below.
