One of the biggest shocks for us at POD of Kanye West’s MSG event where he premiered new album The Life Of Pablo was hearing that Vic Mensa’s part in “Wolves” was no longer a part of the final cut of the track. That original version, also featuring Sia, was an instant fan-favorite so it was weird to see why it would have been modified, although it was ultimately difficult to complain given that the final version now included Frank Ocean.
Not long after TLOP dropped, Kanye said he was going to fix “Wolves” and just like that, an alternate version of the song pops up and now it includes Vic and Sia once more. The arrangement is also updated, with Frank Ocean’s contribution going from outro to intro, the SaveMoney man providing the bridge, and Sia singing the hook before an instrumental outro closes out the show. If this is what Kanye’s cooking up for this track, then I’m sure many fans are going to dig the update.
