The Netflix production Making A Murderer is all the rage these days and there’s no better proof of that than with this new song from Dan Auerbach’s new band The Arcs. Auerbach and his crew have released “Lake Superior,” inspired by the series based on the real-life story of Steven Avery and it was written, recorded, mixed and mastered in 2 days.
The band released a statement about how the song came about:
It’s like Billy Childish says, ‘We live in troubled times.’ Last week, we got a sneak peek at what goes on behind the curtains of our criminal justice system. A few sleepless nights later we gathered in the studio and wrote this song. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered in 2 days.
All profits from the track will benefit the Innocence Project, a nonprofit that uses DNA testing to help exonerate wrongly convicted people. Stream “Lake Superior” below.
