Father John Misty has shared a new track and it’s titled “Maybe, Sweet One, You Won’t Have Nightmares Tonight.” It’s a sweet-sounding yet starkly dark lullaby that you wouldn’t want to hear serenading you to sleep anytime soon.
According to the SoundCloud description, Father John was “asked to write a lullaby for Stephen Colbert as part of a skit for the show. Unfortunately the bit was cut for time/content.” I’m wondering how this one could’ve landed had it been performed on The Late Show.
