Big ups to the homie Chance The Rapper! “Chano for Mayor” chants are in order with the news that his #WarmestWinter campaign has hit and surpassed the $100,000 goal!
Originally announced during an appearance on WGCI, the Warmest Winter campaign, in partnership with The Empowerment Plan, aimed to bring 1,000 EMPWR Coats to Chicago’s homeless. Today Chance has announced with the tweet below that the goal has been met (in less than a month!) BUT that they will continue to buy more coats through the 13th, so you can still donate and help support this great and noble cause.
There will also be one more final, major push via an event at Emporium-Wicker Park put together by Nosferatune. The fundraiser event will take place on Monday the 11th from 7-9pm and it will feature a performance from Rich Jones. Be sure to check that too.
Thanks to good people we raised over $100000 in a few weeks for #WarmestWinter We'll keep buying coats til the 13th pic.twitter.com/kLD9N7fNhl
