I wanted to have a really fun Halloween. After hearing about Freaky Deaky and the acts performing I was sold. I was really excited to get the chance to check out multiple music performances and dress up for Halloween. Freaky Deaky was the perfect place Halloween weekend, it totally surpassed what I thought it would be. I was kind of bummed the weather wasn’t going to be on our side thankfully Freaky Deaky had our backs and was weather ready.
I got to check out Vic Mensa, Joey Bada$$, Mac Miller, Logic, Atrak, Big Gigantic, and Carnage. The festival had Halloween written all over it. There was a cool spooky carnival mixed into the festival. Joey Bada$$’s performance actually blew me away, he was spitting some real shit. He even did a tribute to Capital Steez on stage, everyone put their lighters up.

Logic showed mad love to Chicago and Chicago showed it right back. Logic told the crowd about how he just got married and was actually very sick during his performance but came out for us. He also informed us that Chicago was the first place to show him love and sell out one of his shows. He got very personal with the crowd and showed a lot of appreciation for his fans there. I really liked how he connected with the crowd with his music and talking to us.
I pushed myself to first row to catch one of my favorite artists Vic Mensa. I love being in the crowd and Vic always goes wild. From crowd surfing to pouring patron to the crowd, his set had “No Chill.” Vic Mensa debuted a new song for his hometown called “Vertical.” He also did a bad ass Nirvana “Smells like Teen Spirit” cover. His set ended with the crowd going crazy for Vic’s “U MAD.” In my opinion Vic had one of the craziest sets at Freaky Deaky.

Mac Miller played some of my favorite classics and some new stuff off GOOD:AM. The vibe of the show was really chill. I really liked just watching him do his thing. The best moment was when he had the crowd waving their hands side to side for “Best Day Ever.”
Atrak, Big Gigantic and Carnage all had me dancing like crazy. It was a huge dance party at their sets.
React Presents generated an awesome Halloween music festival. I’ve never been to one before and loved the music and Halloween theme mixed together. The music was awesome, the performances were awesome and the venue was really cool. I’m looking forward to the next React Presents event. I also can’t wait for Freaky Deaky round 2 for a weekend full of Halloween and music.
PS: Thank you so much to whoever decided to put the Harold’s Chicken inside the festival, Wow.
