The 2nd annual Summer Ends Music Festival is going down next weekend and we are making our way out there to take in the festivities. We have been to quite a few festivals this year, but Summer Ends in Tempe is shaping up to be our favorite of the year. Below we listed a few things we would like to see happen down in Tempe. Tickets are still available HERE.
A G.O.O.D. Music Reunion
With Kanye West headlining Sunday night, there is no telling what can happen during his set. One thing we are hoping for is for Big Sean to stick around another night in Arizona and join Ye, Pusha T and Travis Scott on stage for a mini G.O.O.D. Music reunion. They have done this multiple times in the past but we have yet to see it happen live in person. This would be a perfect opportunity.
Kanye West Bring Out Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper
So this happened already in Chicago during one of Chance The Rapper’s Open Mike events a few months ago, but it would be major if it happened down in Tempe. Kanye and Vic have already rocked the stage together a few times this year but having all three of them performing in front of a huge Summer Ends crowd would be a great look for everyone involved. Lets hope Yeezus brings Vic and Chance on stage as I’m sure they’ll be watching from the sidelines.
Pusha T Perform New Material Off Of King Push LP
We have been patiently waiting for Pusha T’s follow up to 2013’s My Name Is My Name LP ever since a tentative release date was announced for June earlier this year. That date has come and gone, but we were blessed with some new Pusha T verses on Skrillex and Yogi’s very dope track, “Burial.” Let’s hope King Push has some new material ready to show the Summer Ends crowd come next Sunday.
A Full Travis Scott Performance
We had a chance to see Travis Scott perform a few times before his Lollapalooza set earlier this year, so we knew he knows how to put on a great set. Things didn’t end up going to well and got out of hand quickly at Lolla. We’re sure this won’t go down at Summer Ends, so we are very excited to see a full set from Travis Scott. What makes it even better is that his critically acclaimed album, Rodeo, will be the main focus throughout the Houston emcee’s set.
Some Dope Covers
A handful of artists performing at Summer Ends Music Festival next weekend have been known to throw in a cover or two during their sets. Whether it be Vic covering The White Stripes, Chance covering the “Arthur” theme song or J. Cole covering Tupac’s “I Ain’t Mad At Cha,” we’re bound to see some pretty dope covers.
