The Libertines follow their triumphant return to the scene with a set at Glastonbury with the announcement of an official return that will deliver their highly-anticipated and long-awaited third album. The UK band will release Anthems For Doomed Youth on September 4, 2015, via Harvest Records and today they gave Annie Mac at BBC Radio 1 the exclusive premier of the record’s first single and music video in over a decade, “Gunga Din.”
The visuals was filmed in ‘Walking Street,’ Pattaya (the sex capital of Thailand), and directed by Roger Sargent. Anthems For Doomed Youth was produced by Jake Gosling and recorded at Karma Sound Studios, Thailand, over 6 weeks during April and May 2015. It is The Libertines’ first album in eleven years, and will be available as a deluxe CD, 12” vinyl, and standard and deluxe digital. The U.S. pre-order will begin July 24th.
