Lead singer of The Orwells Mario Cuomo had been teasing throughout the week that he was in the studio working on something and today we get the first peek with new song “The Nice Guy.” This new track was uploaded to YouTube late last night and the music is very much an ode to the 1950s era of Rock & Roll.
The chorus effect on the guitar along with the falsetto vocals really takes you back. If you only listen to the music and Cuomo’s voice you’d think it was ripped out of an old jukebox, but the sinister artwork is more than enough to remind you that this song comes from the mind of the Elmhurst native. While it’s not exactly an Orwells tune, it’s worth noting that the band’s drummer and guitarist, Henry Brinner and Dominic Corso, respectively, provide the instrumentation heard on “The Nice Guy.”
