For the 2015-16 season Mexico giants Club América will be wearing a Home kit in pale yellow once again and this time it’s designed paying homage to the 50th anniversary of its 1965-66 league championship, referencing the uniform worn during the historic victory. Last season’s collar is substituted for a modern V-neck collar trimmed at the back with a red and navy blue band.
The away shirt is light blue at the top and transitions to a darker shade toward the hem. This design was included as a reference to the club’s reputation for nurturing young talent at its academy named El Nido (the Nest) via a feather graphic that recalls the club’s mascot, an eagle.
The Mexico City club unveiled the new uniforms this week with a little help from former SI Swimsuit Issue model Ana Beatriz Barros. Not a bad pull…
