Kanye West’s road to headlining Glastonbury 2015 had plenty of roadblocks with detractors coming up left and right (that included a “Cancel Kanye West’s headline slot and get a rock band” petition signed by 134,000 British fans) but the Chicago rapper not only justified his inclusion at the legendary festival but did so with an electric performance that will go down as one of the best of its (and his) history.
The set was simple and somehow incredibly dope, with a low roof of lights illuminating Kanye as he performed tracks set opener “Stronger,” “New Slaves,” and “Jesus Walks” among so many other Yeezy classics. You can feel the energy that came out of Kanye during this performance just from the feed along, so I can only imagine just how amazing it must’ve felt like to be amongst the crowd that night.
One of the dopest moments of the night was without a doubt his mini cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsodym” which you can check out above. See the full set, which features a guest appearance from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, here.
