The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr. has announced he will be releasing a new solo album this year titled Momentary Masters. The project is set to be released on July 31st and our first taste comes with the song “Born Slippy.”
The track is jaunty and bright, a real delight. The main riff, like a warmer version of The Strokes’ “Machu Picchu,” is instantly captivating and the vocal delivery comes off as if it were that of a lifelong frontman. Hear it after the jump.
The guitarist will be hitting the road in September in support of his new solo effort; see those dates in the poster below.
