The last release of the MLS’ Jersey Week 2015 was San Jose Earthquakes’ new white Secondary jersey. While this season they’re celebrating the opening of Avaya Stadium, the newest soccer-specific stadium in MLS, the California squad will also be commemorating their history by way of their 2015 away kit.
The new white jersey has pops of reds, a reference to the club’s old days in the North American Soccer League from 1974-1984. Another nod to the club’s history is found on the jock tag which bears “SJ74” and the words “San Jose 1974” on the neck tape.
On the back of the jersey the word “Quakes” is embossed on the lower half under the name and number. As is the case of the other nine charter clubs in MLS who have been around since the very first year in 1996, the Quakes will also be carrying a “Founding Team” patch on the inside of the jersey underneath the club badge.
