One of the world’s most famous and influential DJs Zane Lowe broadcast his last show for BBC Radio 1 earlier today and it was a fitting farewell. Lowe famously commanded his show playing a diverse collection of genres and up-and-coming acts, helping discover the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Adele, as well as shining a mainstream light to new releases and up-and-coming artists with his “Hottest Record.”
The playlist featured a “who’s who” of the best music released since the 2000s including music from artists like Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, The White Stripes, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Foo Fighters. Needless to say, it’s quite the dope final playlist.
Lowe famously accepted a job with Apple to head their new music initiatives, leading to his exit today. Listen to the full farewell show here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0540392
