Is it weird that I dig this? While I’m not typically a fan of covers, seeing how BBC Radio 1 approaches it I’ve learned that I actually like live covers, it’s the studio renditions that I usually don’t like.
Today the storied station hosted Hozier, who went on to cover Ariana Grande’s massive hit “Problem.” Hozier’s live rendition switches things up from the original, reworking the catchy horn part with a guitar playing in its place and adding soulful instrumentation and bone-chilling back vocals. It’s damn good.
