Ed Sheeran is the first artist to bring back the seminal VH1 series Storytellers with the new episode airing last night. For his showing, Ed Sheeran stripped down hits of his for acoustic renditions of songs like “Don’t” (above), “Sing,” and “Thinking Out Loud” along with covers of “American Pie” and Don McLean’s “Vincent.”
The VH1 series is meant to bring artists closer to their fans by having them tell how some of their biggest songs came about. In this episode, Sheeran revealed he first drafted “You Need Me” back when he was only 15.
