A couple of days ago we talked about the first show Foo Fighters would be playing in 2015 was set to go down Saturday, January 10 at LA’s The Forum with profits going to charity. Given the fact that this concert was also doubling as lead singer Dave Grohl’s birthday show, we could’ve expected some cool guests to join him and the band onstage to Rock out some tunes.
It turns out Grohl knows some of the coolest stars on the planet! Some of the acts that would perform with the Foos throughout the night included Tenacious D and Slash lending a hand on a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” (above), Alice Cooper played frontman to perform his own hits “School’s Out” and “I’m Eighteen” (below) and David Lee Roth helped perform Van Halen’s “Panama” and “Ain’t Talking Bout Love.” And that’s only a glimpse at all that went down! My favorite by far was Paul Stanley’s appearance for “Detroit Rock City” and “Do You Love Me.”
I’m a Chicago guy through and through but for this particular night, I would’ve loved being in the “city of angels” if it meant having a shot a being at this specific show.
