For all my fellow Nirvana fans here’s something “new” for ya. Twenty-five years to the date, now you can listen to a newly-unearthed show that was uploaded to YouTube by user WY97212.
On January 12, 1990 Nirvana (with The Melvins’ Dale Crover on drums) played a 54-minute set at Satyricon in Portland, OR. The user who uploaded this concert bootleg notes:
A show with some minor significance as Dale Crover is playing drums. And because Kurt meets someone named Courtney.
I was there. I recorded their set. And I put it away in a box of tapes…
Today marks the 25th anniversary and it seems like the right time to let people hear this. Enjoy and Play Loud.Recording is raw in accordance with the equipment and tape used at the time.
Hear the show after the jump. Yes, the sound quality is sub-par, but if you’re a true fan of the iconic band, this is for you.
