Charli XCX has recorded versions of her hits “Boom Clap” and “Break the Rules” in Japanese for that country’s version of Sucker and today Warner Music Japan has posted snippets of the reworked songs, featuring the lyrics in Japanese. Given the Pop aesthetic of the originals, this almost sounds like if they were always meant to be produced in Japanese.
According to Rolling Stone, J-Pop singer and model Yasuda Rei helped create the Japanese lyrics for “Boom Clap,” and “Break the Rules” was done up by singer Hiromi.
The Japanese edition of Sucker is due out on February 18th. Check out the snippets after the jump.
