Here’s the latest look at What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World, the forthcoming album from The Decemberists. The song is called “The Wrong Year,” a title which somewhat plays into the idea that this song sounds like it comes straight out of the 90’s. That, of course, is not to say it’s not good.
I quite dig the melodies here and the instrumentation is gorgeous, with a particularly sweet combination of strings and what comes off to me as an accordion throughout the song.
