Jenkins’ highly-political song alludes to the injustices of the streets, the plight of the common black man having to defend his intelligence and humanity, and chillingly quotes Eric Garner’s last cries of “I can’t breathe.” Plus his assertion that this will be a problem that will spread beyond what we see now should scare even those he refers to as the colorblind.
