Foo Fighters are planning a real spectacle next year to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band, so start clearing out your schedules and reserve your tickets for Washington DC on the 4th of July, 2015.
Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and the rest of Foos will be celebrating all day with a festival-like event that includes BBQ, a motorcycle rally and fireworks display – because ‘merica! The concert itself boasts an all-star supporting line-up with musical ambassadors representing each of the eight cities where the band’s new album Sonic Highways (out November 10 on Roswell/RCA) was recorded and the band’s HBO docu-series Foo Fighters Sonic Highways was filmed.
Repping Chicago is the legendary Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr. will be on hand to represent Austin, on hand as the guitar gods of yesterday and tomorrow. From Seattle is Heart and for Los Angeles with ties to New York the Foos have recruited Joan Jett. New York‘s voice in this show will come courtesy of LL Cool J with a special appearance from DJ Z-Trip. New Orleans‘ contribution will be the incomparable Trombone Shorty and the hosts in our nation’s capital will be represented by Trouble Funk.
There will be no reserved seating. Field tickets and seated tickets are general admission only.
