Thursday night on the Late Show with David Letterman saw the Foo Fighters perform once more and this time they keep the Chicago-style thing rolling with a live cover of Cheap Trick’s “Stiff Competition.” It was only fitting that the Foos would feature their Chicago cover as a backdrop and even invited Cheap Trick’s own Rick Nielsen to perform it, but the thing that really took things to another level was when lead singer Dave Grohl swapped roles with drummer Taylor Hawkins, the latter donning a Robin Zander-esque suit.
It’s fair to say that this live rendition would leave any Foo Fighters and Cheap Trick fan happy.
