Michael Cera. Yup, that Michael Cera, has released a new album and it’s titled True That. The actor’s interest in music is not news in itself with several involvements in the music world (including contributing guitar and backing vocals on Weezer’s Hurley; he curated a playlist for his 2008 movie, Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist).
While the Bandcamp page doesn’t explicitly confirm that it belongs/is run by the actor, Jonah Hill tweeted out the new album and said it was Cera’s. The music itself is very lo-fi but the sounds are filled with a cool Folk-y aesthetic.
