The World Cup is finishing up with all the heavy-hitters making the semi-finals but that doesn’t mean there isn’t stuff going on in the club level. Legendary Scottish team, Celtic have unveiled their third kit to be worn throughout the 2014-15 season. The new jersey, designed by Nike, is a bold change from the traditional look the Glaswegian side sports with a white kit and a yellow stripe across the chest.
As the news release says:
Celtic played in a white shirt for their first ever game in May 1888, and now this new third shirt pays homage to the club’s founders with a nod to the past, but with a fresh and new look for the future.
The shirt boasts a green, white and gold chest band, a modern interpretation of the Irish tricolor, to celebrate the club’s origins, having been founded in 1887 by Irish Marist priest Brother Walfrid.
