Karen O, lead singer of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, joined Twitter today and it came with the huge announcement of her upcoming debut solo album, Crush Songs. Her first tweet shared a picture that explained that this album was written and recorded around the time when Karen O was 27 (now 35) during which she “crushed a lot” and made her doubt if she’d ever fall in love again.
Crush Songs is set to be released September 9 on Cult Records, AKA Julian Casablancas’ (The Strokes) record label. This immediately became one of the most anticipated releases for us for the rest of this year.
