Today saw the unveiling of the new Away kit that the US Men’s & Women’s National Teams will be using in 2014. Designed by Nike, the new kit is a bold change from what we were used to seeing in recent memory for the U.S.A. The shirt sports a modern crew-neck collar with three bands the color of the American flag.
The base color of the jersey and the cuff of the sleeves feature a prominent red. The upper torso and top sleeves include a bold blue tone, and a white chest band extends over the middle of both sleeves.
To help with the announcement of the new shirt, the U.S. Soccer Federation got help from members of the team like Clint Dempsey and Sydney Leroux, former US international Alexi Lalas, and non-soccer stars like football players Andrew Luck and Ndamukong Suh; skateboarders Eric Koston and Sean Malto; track and field gold medalist Allyson Felix; music producer Diplo; musicians HAIM; and filmmaker Spike Lee.
