ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron Tour hit Chicago’s Metro last night and we were on hand to watch the sold-out show. The opening acts for ScHoolboy were some of the best we have seen at any recent show hands down. Audio Push, Vince Staples and Isaiah Rashad all did their part in getting the crowd ready for the man of the night, ScHoolboy Q. My favorite of the opening acts had to be Isaiah Rashad. His stage presence was great and he had the crowd attentive and participating from the start of his set to the very last song.
ScHoolboy Q hit the stage around 30 minutes after Isaiah’s and set things off right with a performance of the Oxymoron standout, “Fuck LA.” Q ran through a majority of Oxymoron, but found some time to perform gems off of Habits & Contradictions like “There He Go” and “Blessed.” The highlight of the show had to be his performance of his last two songs, “Yay Yay” and “Man Of The Year.” Everyone in the crowd knew what the closing song was going to be before they walked in the venue and fans in the pit were at their craziest during that performance. Check some footage of Q performing “Man Of The Year” below. We’re looking forward to Q’s return to Chicago in July for the Pitchfork’s Music Festival.
