Not only is 2014 the year we get another edition of the FIFA World Cup, but it also marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of The Netherlands’ soccer federation. The new design not only features a new look for the shirt itself, but it also comes with a whole new crest to represent the KNBV (Royal Dutch Football Association). The crest for the 2014 kit is a white lion that’s meant to symbolize a new era in Dutch soccer and, according to the Nike release, also represents “the team’s core values of simplicity, honor and unity.”
The V-neck collar is a classic look for a soccer jersey and, in overall terms, it is a beautiful shirt fit for one of the best teams in the sport. I honestly would love to add this one to my collection.
