Real Madrid and Portugal’s “#7,” Cristiano Ronaldo, is the new winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or award for 2013, breaking Lionel Messi’s four-year streak as the world’s best player. The voting for the award went as follows: Ronaldo 1,365 points, Messi 1,205 and Ribery 1,127.
Ronaldo scored 69 goals playing for club and country last year; 38 league goals (9 more than any other player in Europe’s “Top 5” leagues), 15 Champions League goals, 10 goals in 9 games for Portugal.
