The official sponsor of the World Cup, adidas, has unveiled the latest edition of the most important component of the biggest sporting event on Earth, the official “match ball.” World Cup 2014 will be played with brazuca, which is comprised of just six propeller-shaped, thermally bonded panels that emulate the way that air would move around a traditional 32-panel ball. The six panels are symmetrical and interlocking, a design meant to allow for “better aerodynamics and more stable flight,” according to Antonia Zea, Innovation Director for Football at adidas,
