New York City is bringing together an all-star cast including the Foo Fighters, Black Keys, Neil Young, Band of Horses and K’naan for a new charity concert next month. The concert, dubbed the Great Lawn for Global Festival 2012, will take place on September 29 at the historic Central Park. It has been put together to help fight poverty worldwide.
Golbal Festival 2o12, for short, will be a free ticketed event. The 54,000 tickets will be awarded through a lottery through the Global Citizen website. According to the Foo Fighters’ Facebook post, here are the rules to obtain tickets:
* NOTE* You must be 18+ to earn points & enter the lottery. If you are chosen, your GUEST can be any age.
Upon earning 3 points, you will be automatically entered into a lottery for (2) free tickets to the show.
You will be notified via email when you have earned (3) points and are entered into the draw.
There is no limit on the amount of points you may accumulate.
For every additional (5) points you earn, you’ll earn an extra entry in the ticket draw.
There will be (4) drawings, beginning on August 20th. The final draw will be Sept. 10th.
If you are chosen to attend, you will receive an email confirmation with further instructions.
Tickets are nontransferable.
