In 1986, Run-DMC was just making it big. LL Cool J was still living with his grandmother. And the Latin Quarter was at the epicenter of a rapidly rising artistic movement. Big Fun In The Big Town, a 1986 documentary following the rise of hip-hop culture and its sound in New York City, is finally getting an official release after the footage spent more than 25 years in complete obscurity on the shelf. The DVD is currently slated for a May 22 release, but you can pre-order it on Amazon in the meantime. Check out the promo video after the jump.
