Real Madrid’s Portuguese superstar runs rampant on Real Zaragoza to reach a milestone of his own. Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace during the 5-1 trouncing helped him reach his 101st goal in La Liga.
In just 92 league games for the Merengues, Ronaldo became the quickest ever player to reach a century of goal in La Liga. His two goals also brought his total tally to 131 goals in 131 official matches for Real Madrid, in all competitions. The former Manchester United player only needed two and a half years with his new club to surpass Real Madrid legend, Michel and reach the top 10 goalscorers in club history. CR7 is still a bit far from the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, Raul, who tallied 323 goals between 1994 and 2010.
Assuming he stays for many more, despite rumors suggesting otherwise, Ronaldo can surely reach the club’s legendary top 5 goalscorers which currently includes Hugo Sanchez (208), Ferenc Puskas (238), Santillana (290), Alfredo Di Stefano (308) and Raul (323). If this amazing goal-scoring pace is kept, within a few years, we may be seeing C. Ronaldo up there among Madrid’s finest of all time.
