FakeShoreDrive X RedBull Sound Select Series

8 May

30-517x800

The good people over at RedBull and FakeShoreDrive are back with another installment of their Sound Select Series. You read the flyer above correctly only $5! Check out what they have in store below

“We’re bringing the 305 to the 312 as MMG/Def Jam artist, Gunplay, will be our Sound Select headliner. This is the first time Gunplay has ever performed in the City of Wind, so let’s give him a warm welcome, as he preps the release of his MMG/Def Jam debut, Living Legend. Also on the bill we have the Save Money Army, which will feature an all-star set from Caleb James, Kami de Chukwu, Joey Purp, Tokyo Shawn and Dally Auston. Trust this is something you won’t want to miss.”

“And rounding out the lineup is female emcee/songstress Tink, as well as rising emcees (and Heir Apparents) Lil Herb and Lil Bibby. Red Bull’s Sound Select program seeks to promote the best unsigned talent in markets across the country, and we feel like this is the perfect group of artists rep the Chi. Dave Jeff will be handling hosting duties, while DJ Oreo will be on the 1s and 2s all night long. – FakeShoreDrive

FakeShoreDrive Feature: Getting to Know Vita-Morte and dope.boy.magic

17 Apr

FakeShoreDrive did a dope little interview with the geniuses behind Vita-Morte and dope.boy.magic. Check it out above.

“Interview by Leland Bonner (LelandBfresh). Shot and edited by FrameLab Films.”

“For the third installment of our Getting To Know series, we caught up with the brains behind two of Chicago’s favorite brands: Vita-Morte & dope.boy.magic. You’ve likely spotted Terrell Jones and Joe Freshgoods around the city at various events, but you probably didn’t know that they’re behind some of your most cherished apparel in your closet. From weekly events like Feed The Homies and Project Fun, these two know how to keep the good times rollin’ and keep us fresh at the same damn time (yes, a pun was intended).

In this interview, we get acquainted with both Terrell and Joe. They touch on everything from how they met, how both brands got started, and a few other topics. Tune in above.”
